Chapter 1003 - 871: Daughter
Chapter 1003 - 871: Daughter
"Ah, we’ve been discovered, Sister, run quickly!"
Sitting on the horseback, the young girl holding her sister’s waist had to respond quickly upon hearing the distinct mechanical sound of 6731.
The centaur girl turned her head, with her light red long hair, blue eyes, her delicate face resembling a doll.
However, she was dressed in a suit of full-body armor for women, naturally a customized version for children.
If one had seen portraits of Kreya as a child, they might be led to mistakenly think this centaur girl was Kreya in her younger years.
Looking closely, one would still notice some differences, not quite so similar.
Upon seeing 6731 behind her, she quickly said to her sister on her back, "The magic disappeared, Mico, quick, use it again!"
Upon hearing her sister Virginie’s words, Mico reacted immediately, a slender magic short staff appeared in her hand. The wand, adorned with a blue gemstone on a pink shaft, looked unusually flashy.
With a gentle wave or two, colorful mist enveloped the two, and they vanished.
"Spotted the two princesses, City of Two Realms, Hilnania Street."
immediately transmitted his discovery into the magic network.
Raphael, who had been silently standing behind 6731, spoke up then and asked, "Who are they?"
"The two princesses of the Platinum Country, Mico Lafray and Virginie Perrekel."
As their voices fell.
A figure suddenly emerged from within the air.
As this figure appeared, the surrounding passersby were astounded, some even began to exclaim with excitement and joy.
"Your Majesty!"
"King Kane!"
Various titles were shouted by the people.
Across the entire Platinum Country, the most famous would naturally be their founding King Kane.
This also informed some clueless tourists that this person was indeed King of Platinum Kane.
Apart from the Platinum Country’s residents, most tourists may have only recognized Kane from photographs.
At this moment, Kane was dressed luxuriously yet simply in white-gray attire, with minimal accessories.
It was apparent that he was in a rather casual outfit.
With a head of black cropped hair, blue eyes, the features on his face were gentle yet masculine, and his neatly groomed chin stubble made him appear exceptionally mature and steady.
His overall demeanor was remarkably calm, yet maintained an air of authority.
Inspiring awe without inducing excessive fear, seriousness, or pressure.
Upon hearing the surrounding calls, he simply smiled and gestured for calm.
Then waved his hand lightly toward the air in front of him.
The two young princesses appeared before him.
However, at that moment, both were covering their eyes with their hands, too afraid to look directly at their father, hoping this would somehow make them invisible.
"Covering your eyes won’t make you invisible, my little princesses."
With that, he crouched down and embraced them in his arms, then turned to the roadside, smiling at the civilians before vanishing into the air.
When Kane reappeared, he was already inside the inner realm of the Platinum Country, floating above the capital at the Platinum Palace.
"Your Majesty!"
The Moon’s Child patrolling outside the palace immediately bowed upon Kane’s arrival.
Kane nodded.
Then released his hands, placing the two young princesses onto the ground.
Between their tightly closed fingers there was a tiny gap, their round blue eyes cautiously watched Kane.
Kane, observing their timid gestures, smiled helplessly and reached out, tapping their noses with his index fingers.
"What’s the matter this time? Running off again, this will trouble everyone."
Upon hearing his words, Virginie seemed to find someone to rely on.
She stepped forward, came to Kane’s side, grabbing his shoulder as he squatted down, whispered in his ear:
"Dad, Mom’s too strict, my hooves were smoking from running, but she still wants me to keep training."
Agreeing with her sister, Mico stood on the floor, but leaned over her sister’s back, nodding her head continuously.
Supporting her sister’s complaint, she also intended to voice against her mother.
Mico had long black hair, also blue eyes, her doll-like face looked remarkably similar to Kreya, save for her hair color being closer to Kane’s.
"Mom’s doing it for your own good," Kane comforted them.
Upon hearing Kane’s words, Mico immediately disagreed, standing up, shaking her fist.
"But a year ago Mom didn’t make me read intentionally, now I have to read a lot every day."
To this, Kane could only chuckle awkwardly.
"Last year you were still a toddler, but you’ve outgrown that phase now."
"What are you doing?"
At this moment, Kreya’s slightly stern voice came from beside them.
Virginie and Mico, like startled rabbits, immediately snuggled into Kane’s embrace, hiding their heads against his chest.
Kreya walked over, bent down, her sharp gaze fixed upon the back of the two young princesses’ heads.
Kane stood silently to the side, maintaining his smile, this was definitely a moment to remain mute, otherwise, he’d become the target of criticism.
The two young princesses knew their father couldn’t be relied upon, also feeling overwhelmed by Kreya’s piercing gaze.
"Ah, ah, ah, I don’t want to train!"
Virginie suddenly yelled and then, clutching her head, dashed on all four legs towards the garden.
"Sister!" Mico saw her sister about to run and immediately bounced up, jumping onto her sister’s horse’s back, following her out while shouting.
"I don’t want to read books either!"
Watching their actions and hearing their rebellious voices, Kreya immediately got angry.
She clenched her fists and yelled in the direction of their escape.
"You two, stop right there!"
Just then, Kane quickly hugged Kreya and gently patted her back to comfort her, saying, "Calm down, calm down."
"These two are just too playful, Mico is young, but Virginie is already 7, gone for two months, and no progress at all. I only trained them for a few days, and they can’t handle it?"
"We can’t watch over them all the time; there are only about ten days in a few months to properly watch them, so we have to be a little stricter."
Kreya muttered, but was still led into the palace by Kane, without continuing to chase the two little princesses.
Looking at Kane holding her hand, Kreya vented her anger on him, "See, you spoil them too much."
Holding her hand, Kane continued moving forward, simply smiling in response to Kreya’s words, "They’re already quite good; don’t be too harsh. Haste makes waste."
The two of them discussed the issue of educating their daughters as they walked into the palace.
The Platinum Palace had already been expanded.
The palace before them was a simple resting place for gatherings and leisure activities.
Different buildings surrounded them.
Before entering the palace, they heard Longbei’s voice coming from inside.
"King bomb!"
"Can’t take it."
"Pass."
Along with Longbei’s voice, they heard two other male voices; it seemed like the three were playing the Head-Playing Game.
Sure enough, once inside, Kane and Kreya saw Longbei there along with Raphael and Kafka.
The three were sitting around a small round table, passionately holding cards and battling.
Noticing Raphael’s furrowed brows, it was clear his cards were not great.
At that moment, hearing footsteps from behind, Raphael turned his head and immediately, with a joyful expression, tossed his cards into the pile and stood up to greet Kane.
"Kane, you’re here."
Listening to Raphael’s voice as if they hadn’t seen each other for ages, Kane found it comical, since they’d only been apart a few days.
"Raphael, cheating again? Are you playing or not?" Kafka threw his cards and couldn’t help but scold Raphael.
Longbei also tossed his cards aside, sneering disdainfully.
A bunch of trash, playing cards so poorly.
As the king of various card games in the Guild, Longbei had the right to say that.
Ignoring the scolding and disdainful expressions, Raphael acted as if he hadn’t seen them.
He was thick-skinned like no other.
Kane and Kreya sat on the nearby sofa, looking puzzled and asking Raphael and Kafka.
"Shouldn’t you two be on the outside defense line? Why are you back?"
"I remember you’d only been out for half a month, Synesthesia shouldn’t be exhausted yet."
Longbei came over, sat on the sofa next to them, poured himself a glass of wine, and answered for them.
"What else? Obviously injured. Meizike is making potions for them now."
Hearing Longbei’s words, Kane looked at the two concernedly and asked, "Injured? Was it serious? Any involvement with the soul or residual power contamination?"
The two shook their heads.
Raphael said, "Not too serious, just contaminated by residual power, that’s why Synesthesia was exhausted and we needed to come back to rest."
Hearing Raphael’s words, Kane relaxed and nodded.
"Damn those silver tendrils!"
Longbei grumbled, downing his drink and then pulling out a cigar-like tobacco, lighting it as he placed it in his mouth.
Upon hearing Longbei’s words, Kane and the others fell silent.
Only Kafka angrily nodded, saying, "One day, I’ll shred those silver tendrils into pieces."
Amidst the curses of the two, Kane leaned back, resting against the soft sofa back, and gazed at the palace ceiling, his thoughts drifting back more than 20 years.
April 18th, year 6, known as the Day of the Descent.
What descended wasn’t a friendly figure.
What came down was that silver sphere like the sun they witnessed firsthand, along with its six soaring tendrils.
This was a being whose power was beyond Kane’s comprehension.
To confront this creature, Mist had to gather most of the world’s power and its own to combat this being.
Even so, Mist could only defend with all its might.
The entire Mist World seemed like a fully consolidated sphere, forming a solid defense.
The silver sun, restricted by Mist’s presence, was greatly weakened.
Though it had extra power, the world’s tight defense prevented it from reaching its tendrils into the Mist World.
The idea of directly infiltrating the Mist World couldn’t be fully realized.
The current stalemate reached a delicate balance due to Mist’s complete contraction, forging the strongest defense.
Outside Mist, no new World Fragments have joined.
With all of Mist and Mist World’s power defending, the basic World Fragment capture program had long been halted.
Their response clearly indicated that this silver sun surpassed Mist, surpassed the Mist World.
