Chapter 50 Calling for People
Chapter 50 Calling for People
As the large ship slowly sailed out of the harbor, Li Wei threw a bag of gold bars at the man, knocking him unconscious. He also took care of everyone on board.
The Crossroads Inn Village is located not far from the sea, making it convenient for home delivery.
Levi and Carradine sat in the captain's cabin. Carradine told him the recipe, and Levi wrote it down.
"A bowl of cannibalistic animal oil, a bowl of dog oil, and four dandelions, the kind with the roots."
Ogre Oil: One bowl of bear fat, four moon rose petals (only the petals are needed).
Wild animal oil: one bowl of dog oil, two wolf livers, and three stalks of lavender (excluding the roots and stems).
Hybrid animal oil: one bowl of dog oil, four white crape myrtle flowers, only the upper half is needed.
Evil Spirit Oil: One bowl of bear fat, flea dregs...
That's all I know about such basic things, but what do you need all this for? With your wealth, why not just buy something better?
Li Wei also wanted to use something better, but for example, strengthening the ogre oil required the liver of a cave troll. If he went to another world, where would he find a liver?
Trolls might have one, but caves? Can you just dig a cave for them and stuff them in?
The others are similar; they all require local specialties.
Li Wei put away his notes and replied.
"It's none of your business. Do these things require specific cooking times?"
Caradin shrugged and said nonchalantly.
"You're the boss~, so there aren't many requirements. Just simmer it over low heat, and keep stirring when it's almost turned into an oil. If it burns, it's useless."
Sword oil also has a time effect; it will become ineffective if it dries out or gets completely contaminated with blood. However, it's still enough to cut through something dozens of times.
"Okay, I've got it."
After saying that, he pushed open the door and went out to see the sea. As an inland person, he had never experienced taking a boat to see the sea before.
Moreover, there's not much to say to human traffickers; Li Wei is even considering whether to turn on them and kill everyone on the ship.
However, Li Wei soon didn't need to worry about it anymore, because someone else had taken care of the problem for him.
There were dozens of people on the boat, but Li Wei, this rich guy, was the only one. If you killed him and threw him into the sea, who would know?
The sailors surrounded Li Wei.
"Sir Knight, you're so wealthy, lend us some money. Are you going to do it yourself, or do you want us to?"
Li Wei scratched his ear; why did that tone sound so familiar?
I tried replying.
"I'm going to use your skull as a bowl."
"Ha, there are dozens of us."
When Li Wei, armed with two pistols, took down more than a dozen people and pulled out a large barrel of oil to force them to land, everyone calmly accepted the suggestion.
After all, if the ship were burned at sea, everyone would become a drowned ghost, and Li Wei didn't want to kill too many people. He also needed professionals to steer the ship; he couldn't manage it alone with a bunch of slaves.
Li Wei had just finished examining his soul and was leaning against the side of the boat, enjoying the sea breeze, when an abnormal fog began to spread, covering the sky in less than two minutes.
This scene seemed familiar; without saying a word, Li Wei drew his sword.
"Soul thief, kill."
clang!
He swung his sword to block the incoming scythe, sparks flying everywhere.
But being blocked doesn't mean there's no chance of fighting back.
With a powerful push, the soul guide in front of him vanished instantly, reappearing behind Li Wei and sweeping his scythe across.
Li Wei spun around, swinging his greatsword in a defensive arc, while the Ferryman's Blink ability seemed to have no cooldown, clanging and ringing out incessantly.
However, he only becomes a physical entity at the moment of his attack; at other times, the greatsword has no effect on him at all, as if passing through a cloud of mist.
It wasn't until Caradin arrived and threw a Moon Dust Bomb (anti-magic) that this thing was driven away from Levi's sight. He then teleported to the bow of the ship and dismembered the hiding sailors, as if he was afraid that Levi would steal it.
Caradin stood within the dust cloud of the Moon Dust bomb, too afraid to go outside.
He shouted at Li Wei.
"What have you done to deserve this? What the hell is this thing?! It can teleport after eating Moon Dust!"
"Isn't this a local product? Don't you recognize it?"
After replying, Li Wei took out the Holy Bell, gathered lightning spears in his hand, and hurled them at the ferrymen who were rampaging on the ship.
The ferryman dodged the lightning spear and appeared at the bow of the ship, staring at Li Wei as he untied the hourglass from his waist.
He threw it to the ground, and a series of ghostly wails and howls rang out. Dozens of demons carrying long swords and lanterns surged out.
They flew out and began to teleport, killing anyone they saw.
However, these guys take at least two seconds to teleport, unlike the Ferryman, who can be activated and never deactivated.
Li Wei took out pine resin to enchant the sword, and casually asked Kaladin a question.
"Is there any Moon Dust left?"
Kaladin kept a close eye on his surroundings and answered aloud.
"There's another one. This thing is coming for you. If you have any ideas, bring them out quickly. They've almost wiped out everyone."
Li Wei took out a white wax stone and started calling for men. "If you're recruiting henchmen, I can't. I have more henchmen than you."
"If it fails, just throw it at our feet, it'll be fine right away."
"You better hurry... damn it."
The sight of a blood-soaked knight emerging from the runic halo is quite a shock. The celestial conjunction in this world has made the local special individuals quite familiar with otherworldly realms; they may have heard of them even if they haven't seen them.
What he was seeing was definitely not a normal thing. His mind was filled with images of an alien invasion, the convergence of the new celestial spheres, and Li Wei buying slaves for blood sacrifice to open the gate.
Without hesitation, Caradin turned and ran, leaping onto the edge of the boat with his hands clasped together, landing in the water with perfect form.
The experts ran away, but Li Wei couldn't. He dared to jump into the water, which was practically handing himself over to Ken.
"These guys are immune to physical attacks. Enchant your sword and protect me."
Li Wei held the white wax stone in one hand and the Holy Bell in the other, ready to use the miracle: the Force at any moment.
And Ken, looking at these gloomy fellows, also pulled out his most prized possession: rare golden pine resin (enchanted with lightning).
As the saying goes, a large body weakens the gate, and abundant hair weakens the fire. Ken instinctively felt that this kind of thing that flashes around in short distances everywhere should be electrocuted.
The extraditers stopped standing by and watching; after all, one was troublesome enough, and if they could recruit more, wouldn't that make it impossible for the deceased to live a peaceful life?
However, Li Wei was so used to drawing runes that he could draw them even with his eyes closed, and his eyes were always fixed on him.
The instant he disappeared, he immediately used the Force to create a shockwave, deflecting the swinging scythe. The Moon Dust on the ground was covered in the Ferryman's face by the shockwave.
Ken wasn't one to be trifled with either; he swept his longsword, crackling with lightning, across the area.
The extraditionist flashed away, creating distance, a black wound on his body emitting black smoke.
Pointing at Li Wei and roaring, the demons who were entangled with the survivors surged forward.
Li Wei finished drawing the second rune, and another burly knight stepped forward, though still covered in blood.
These underworld creatures gave Li Wei no time to continue drawing talismans. He stood up and replaced the objects in his hands with a greatsword and a thunder pot.
Since their fighting styles were different and they had never cooperated, the three of them simply split up and fought separately.
After a while, the ferryman saw that he couldn't break through the barrier and that he himself was also badly injured. Blocking out the sun was no easy task for the dead souls, so he howled again, raised the hourglass, summoned his minions, and ran away.
As the fog dissipated and sunlight shone on the deck, Li Wei sheathed his sword and greeted the newcomer.
"Jesse, where have you all been? Why are you all covered in blood? Who's collecting taxes? Coran?"
"We found a bunch of ordinary people to collect it. Anyway, no one dared to cause trouble. Boss, not long after you left, some of those zombie variants started to mutate again. They used to just jog, but now they can run like mad dogs. The battle is more than ten percent more intense. However, their soul power has also doubled, so... hehe."
Li Wei scratched his head. A mutation once a month? That's ruthless.
They're not leaving any way for the locals to make a living.
(If there's a Netherworld, there must be a guide. This is just something I made up; it doesn't exist in The Witcher 3. Just think of it as a super-enhanced version of the ghosts.)

(Adding a beautiful photo of the banshee; her double image was too blurry during the day.)
