Chapter 341: Silent Terror
Chapter 341: Silent Terror
[Arena.]
"Seems that round goes smoothly, Okay! Let’s see the next teams." Davy announced, his magically amplified voice echoing across the stadium, though a trace of underlying nervousness was beginning to crack his professional veneer.
Everyone turned to the screen, as Hitachi’s name appeared on it in bold, crimson letters. The crowd murmured. Then, Blade from the Eagle Academy was drafted, followed by four other members from the Sword and Eagle academies each, making a fragile, highly volatile alliance of ten students.
Other teams were rapidly mentioned by the system, and all the drafted teams stepped forward onto the glowing teleportation arrays.
Davy moved his sharp gaze over the tense students, and nodded his Head, signaling the system to initiate the transfer: "Okay!! Please step into the battlefield."
___
[First Battlefield.]
Hitachi and his randomized team appeared on the sterile, white stone of the instanced battlefield. The heavy scent of ozone lingered in the air as they immediately moved their gazes onto the reinforced cages standing menacingly before them.
"Um... Young Master Hitachi."
Hitachi slowly turned his head to the side, staring at Blade with a slight frown on his face.
"Please look after us." Blade said with a deep, respectful bow. He had witnessed the apocalyptic scores of the Dragon Academy; his survival instincts as a fighter overrode any foolish academy pride.
"Then all of you should step back." Hitachi said, his tone flat and utterly devoid of emotion.
"Yes. Yes."
Blade nodded vehemently, and quickly stepped backwards, signaling his fellow students. The arrogant Sword Academy students looked at one another in sheer confusion, watching as the Eagle Academy’s students rapidly retreated.
"....?!"
They blinked, their hands hovering over their weapons, and turned to Hitachi, the four of them completely not knowing what to do or why the Eagle team was acting so cowardly.
[First Wave start.]
BOOOOM!
The heavy runic locks shattered. The cages opened wide, and massive, venomous Pythons—each radiating a lethal, Boss aura—moved out, their scales scraping against the stone as they were violently shooting towards the ten humans.
"Go to the end of the battlefield." Hitachi commanded, his voice slicing through the chaos.
"Let’s go!!"
Blade shot forward, utilizing his movement technique to run rapidly towards the furthest wall. His group didn’t waste a single microsecond, and tightly followed behind him, leaving the profoundly stunned Sword Academy’s students standing blindly in the vanguard.
Hitachi blinked. His natural crimson eyes shifted, the pupils dilating violently as gray and white colors rapidly bled into both eyes. The ambient energy in the arena instantly grew suffocatingly dense.
"Stage two Celestial Eyes, Demonic Eyes of Chaotic Destruction."
BOOOOM!!
The fabric of the instanced dimension tore open. A huge, terrifyingly profound red eye appeared manifesting directly above the whole battlefield, shining its concentrated, absolute red ray down below. Instantly, all the charging monsters, those still lingering in the cages, and importantly, including the stupid, unmoving Sword Academy’s students—every single living creature caught within the ray instantly shattered into a fine mist of blood. There was no resistance, no screams, just total cellular erasure.
"....?!"
Blade and the Eagle Academy’s team were completely dumbfounded, their backs pressed hard against the barrier wall, staring at Hitachi in sheer, unadulterated horror.
"I knew it, all these guys from the Dragon academy are monsters." He muttered in a low, trembling voice, realizing how close they had been to deletion.
"Those sword academy’s students didn’t even have the chance to surrender." Another muttered, his knees threatening to buckle under the residual killing intent.
BAM!!
Everyone blinked in shock, staring at a huge python that had suddenly dropped heavily before them. Its reptilian eyes were completely lifeless, paralyzed by the residual psychic pressure, but its health bar showed it was miraculously still alive.
"Only one of you will make it." Hitachi said, his back turned to them, completely unbothered, not even looking over his shoulder. He had calculated exactly how much force to withhold to leave a single mob with 1 HP.
"He." Blade was stunned, his mind racing to process the mercy, then deeply bowed his head to the untouchable genius: "Thank you for your Mercy, Young Master Hitachi." He said, realizing Hitachi was securing his passage as the second-place point holder.
"Go ahead, young master Blade. We will all back down." A lady from the Eagle Academy said with a tight, relieved smile, willing to sacrifice her own advancement for him.
"Yes!" The other three added in unison.
Blade stared at them in genuine surprised, deeply moved by their loyalty, and firmly nodded his head: "Thank you everyone, I will try my best in the last round." He said, and cleanly drew out his sword.
With a definitive nod, he plunged the blade directly into the paralyzed python’s skull, killing it and securing the instance.
[First, second, and third waves cleared.]
____
[Arena.]
[Sixth team completed the fourth round, and both Blade from the eagle academy, and Hitachi from the Dragon academy passed, both advanced to the fifth round.]
Davy stared blankly at the six students who appeared out of the teleportation matrix, walking quietly towards their respective sections.
’I am a bit confused here... These kids are clearing the waves in less than ten minutes. Some even doing it less than five minutes... Did we miscalculate their strength?’ He thought, rubbing his temples, a bit speechless. The entire scaling of the Galaxy Fall competition was fundamentally breaking. He watched as the next ten students materialized on the stage.
"Huh? No death?" He was completely stunned, as the central screen calculated the results and announced them:
[Seventh team completed the fourth round, and Grace from the Dragon academy passed, and advanced to the fifth round.]
"Huh?"
Everyone in the audience stared at the young girl. Grace stood at the center of her group, casually holding her breathtaking Legendary class staff, a sweet, innocent smile resting perfectly on her face. The audience was in deep shock. They slowly turned their heads to the Eagle Academy’s 3 students, and the Sword Academy’s 6 students.
There wasn’t a single scratch on them, yet the sheer, traumatized horror reflecting in their wide, trembling eyes told a story of absolute psychological dominance.
’What the hell happened in there?’ Davy asked himself with a deep, concerned slight frown, trying to imagine what this weak looking student could have possibly done to completely break nine elite combatants without shedding a drop of blood:
’This rule was set, so other contestants won’t know another’s abilities, but now... I myself think this was a mistake.’ He thought, realizing the Dragon Academy was using some secret to unleash unfathomable anomalies. He forcefully cleared his throat, trying to regain the crowd’s attention:
"Okay, let’s see the next team." He said.
___
[VIP Seats.]
High above the chaotic arena, in a secluded, heavily warded VIP box, the atmosphere was thick with unresolved familial tension.
"Why are you here, Dad?" Yakima asked, elegantly crossing her arms over her chest, staring intently down at the arena below without looking at him.
"Shouldn’t you be with the Royal family?" She added, her voice crisp and highly disciplined.
"Doesn’t feel like it... Today, I want to spend time with my eldest daughter, and protect her." Hayatobi said with a warm, fatherly smile, completely dropping the terrifying aura he had displayed against the Emperor earlier.
Yakima slowly turned her head to him with a sharp, incredulous slight frown. She let the silence stretch for a moment to highlight the absurdity of his statement.
"I am the personal protector of the Princess, the Leader of the dragon tooth guild, now a Lv350 All-bloodlines, with the soul eyes... Why would I need your protection?" She asked, her piercing white eyes fixed entirely on him, listing off the apex credentials that made her one of the most lethal entities in the empire.
"....?!"
Hayatobi sat there, completely dumbfounded, his fatherly instincts brutally derailed by her flawless logic.
