Chapter 3661 Tempest's Wrath
Chapter 3661 Tempest's Wrath
Alex tried finding out more about the secret realm, but to his surprise, the Sky God replied with just a single sentence."We haven't decided yet."
She then walked away, leaving Alex behind to decipher her words. He tried figuring out what she was talking about, but he soon realized that there was no reason for him to think about it for now.
So, he pushed himself into the task once again.
As time passed, the amount of work he had to do lessened significantly as well, to a point where Alex could complete a week's worth of work in just a few hours and spend the rest of the time on himself.
His first thought was to continue absorbing more aura into his Origins, which he would, but alongside that, he needed to do something else.
Alex took out the book he had been given by the Sky God as a reward to learn from. He flipped through the old book, reading through it slowly. As he did, he took in the information, slowly understanding what it was about.
The Tempest's Wrath Cultivation Technique was a Wood-based cultivation technique that was seemingly made for someone whose only good spirit root was the Wood root. It was in fact perfect for someone with the Sky God's body, or maybe the Azure Dragon bloodline.
Except for one single issue.
Alex tested the technique to see just how serious this issue was.
It took Alex just a few tries to get the ball rolling, and then the technique became natural for him. While Alex lacked a Supreme-grade Wood root, even having a regular Wood root was enough for him to use the technique.
When he did, the technique proved why it was named what it was.
The moment one cultivated using the technique, the Qi around the person was suddenly sucked into them with great ferocity, as though a sudden storm emerged out of nowhere and they were at the eye of the storm.
The speed at which the Qi rushed into Alex in that moment was perhaps faster than any other cultivation technique he had learned before, beating even his best by at least three times in terms of just how much he took in.
However, taking in Qi alone was obviously not enough. One also needed to be able to refine the Qi. Since it used a Wood root to refine Qi, the only Qi that was refined in that instance would be Wood Qi, which was very much worse than what he was taking in.
However, because of the sheer amount of Qi he did take in, his Wood root gained access to much more Wood Qi than if he would have used any other method.
In a way, compared to another cultivation technique, there was the potential for the Wood root to refine at least three times as much Qi.
And therein lay the main issue.
Because the technique dragged in so much Qi like a wrathful tempest, the person's spirit root was forced to bear the burden that was suddenly being placed on them.
With such a burden, a spirit root was bound to fail at some point. The weaker it was, the faster it would fail. Because of that, there was a natural limit to how often a person could cultivate.
A person with a Supreme root would likely have a much better result, but even a Supreme-grade spirit root could fail if it was burdened enough.
It was clear to Alex after a few tests that if this were his main spirit root, he would have to stop cultivating every month and a half to let his spirit root rest before he could continue. Cultivating for years at a time would simply be impractical using this technique.
He opened his eyes after figuring it all out and let out a slight sigh. "So that's why they aren't using it," he mused to himself.
The downside of having to pause once in a while was something Alex could genuinely ignore, had there not been a chance of Qi deviation because of this technique. That was the much greater issue he simply could not look away from.
If Pearl was to get this technique as it was, Alex could not even begin to imagine just how worried he would be for Pearl's sake. Thankfully though, he had plans to change that.
Alex called Pearl out of his Soul Space to deliver him this news.
Pearl came out with an expressionless face and sat before Alex in the room. "Is everything alright, brother?" he asked. "I thought you were to be busy for some years longer."
"I still have work to do, but the amount has lowered," Alex said. He then brought out the book and handed it over to Pearl. "Be very careful. It's quite old and could be easily damaged."
Pearl took the book and held it as gently as he would have a soap bubble in that moment, letting nothing hurt the book. He read the title and raised an eyebrow.
"Is this a cultivation technique?" he asked.
"A Wood-based cultivation technique. For you," Alex answered.
Pearl narrowed his eyes. "For me? But why?" It made no sense to Pearl, since he already had a cultivation technique. One that was likely much better than what he had just received.
"Have I told you the issue with your spirit root yet?" Alex asked.
Pearl slowly shook his head. "Long ago in the past, but I believe that was just guesswork. You haven't explained anything after you got your Dao."
Alex nodded. "So, here's the situation."
Pearl's Wood root was currently better for cultivation than his Metal root, and since there was no way to affect his Supreme roots in any way, he had to change techniques.
"You don't need to improve your body cultivation temporarily, so use this technique instead since it will be faster," Alex explained.
Pearl supposed that was true. Although…
"Temporarily? What's the permanent solution?" he asked.
Alex grinned. "Give me your current cultivation technique. I will combine the two and make a new technique that will be fit you perfectly."
