Chapter 31 Enchantment Order
Chapter 31 Enchantment Order
The next morning, Chen Mo was woken up by a knock on the door.
He groggily got out of bed, put on his coat, went downstairs, and opened the door.
A young servant in a Blue Palace uniform stood outside the door—not the one who delivered the letter yesterday. The young man was younger and stood ramrod straight, as if he were carrying out some important mission.
"Mr. Chen Mo?" The young servant's voice was a little tense, as if he was trying to make his voice sound more mature. "Chief Steward Foco Hu sent me. Her Majesty the Queen's order—there are some other things that need your review."
Chen Mo was stunned for a moment.
"Order?"
Rubbing his eyes, Chen Mo couldn't help but marvel at the efficiency of Lan Gong; he had just applied for the job yesterday and had already secured work today.
The green channel is one of them.
"Yes. Two hundred enchanted longswords."
The attendant pulled a folded parchment from his pocket and handed it to him with both hands. "This is the order details. Steward Fok said that if you have any questions, you can go directly to the Blue Palace to find him."
Chen Mo took the parchment and unfolded it.
Dugu City Blue Palace Enchantment Order
"Dear Advisor Chen Mo, given the current severity of the war situation, Blue Palace has commissioned you to provide enchanting services for Imperial weapons. An enchanting workshop has been prepared for you near Blue Palace, and the corresponding weapons and materials are ready. Please visit the enchanting workshop to sign for them soon. The order is attached below:"
Client: Blue Palace of Dugu City, Her Majesty Queen Elisabeth
Client: Mr. Chen Mo, Blue Palace Enchantment Consultant
Order contents: Two hundred Imperial standard longswords, with the enchantment effect "Stamina Absorption".
Delivery time: four months.
Enchantment materials: 300 Common Soulstones, ready.
Note: The entrusted party may arrange the work schedule as it sees fit, and the Blue House will not interfere.
Chen Mo looked at the order twice and couldn't help but sigh in admiration.
Two hundred swords, four months.
On average, less than two games a day.
Ordinary soul stones, on the other hand, are larger soul containers with greater storage capacity than the miniature soul stones he bought.
On the market, a regular soulstone costs two to three times more than a miniature soulstone.
Three hundred copies.
He silently did some calculations in his mind.
That's generous!
He's really hooked up with a rich woman now.
Chen Mo silently calculated that at his current speed, completing the task of two hundred swords in four months was not a problem at all.
Or rather—it's too easy.
Lan Gong clearly took Chen Mo's personal needs into account and did not assign him too many tasks.
From the perspective of the materials...
The three hundred Soul Stones, with enchanting materials provided by the Blue Palace, also meant that the Empire had taken into account the full failure rate for him.
Tsk tsk.
The empire didn't give him a job, it gave him a gift.
However, two hundred enchanted longswords are just a drop in the ocean for Blue Palace, but for him, a newcomer to Skyrim who has been there for less than a month, it is an opportunity that can change everything.
The Queen's actions were beyond the comprehension of an ordinary person like him.
"The workshop is near the Blue Palace," the attendant continued. "Steward Fock said it would be more convenient for you to work there. The materials have already been delivered. If you have time now, I can take you to see it."
Chen Mo glanced back upstairs—there wasn't much to pack, so he simply put on his coat and followed the servant out the door.
The studio is located on the east side of the Blue Palace, about a 15-minute walk from Chen Mo's residence.
It was a detached stone house, two stories high, much more spacious than the surrounding buildings.
There was no sign at the entrance, but the door was freshly painted, the lock was new, and there wasn't even a speck of dust on the threshold—it had clearly been cleaned up recently.
The servant took out a key, opened the door, and stepped aside to let Chen Mo go in first.
Chen Mo stood at the door, somewhat dazed.
The studio was bigger than he had imagined.
The first floor is an open space with a row of iron racks against the wall, neatly stacked with swords.
Two hundred imperial standard longswords, each one identical, with their scabbards facing outwards and their hilts inwards, like a troop of soldiers awaiting inspection.
Next to the iron frame was another shelf with dozens of wooden boxes on it. The lids of the wooden boxes were open, and inside were neatly stacked ordinary soul stones.
It was dark purple, a size larger than a miniature soulstone, with a smooth surface and fewer cracks, and gleamed with a deep luster in the morning light.
A huge enchanting table stood by the window—more than three times the size of the one in his house. The tabletop was made of a single piece of obsidian, polished smooth as a mirror, and the runes on it were more intricate than any enchanting table he had ever seen.
Next to the table were various tools—tweezers, a carving knife, a magnifying glass, and several bottles of medicine whose purpose was unknown.
Chen Mo walked over and touched the edge of the enchanting table with his fingers.
The obsidian surface was cool and smooth, and the runes glowed slightly for a moment when he touched it—just by touching it, Chen Mo could tell that using this enchanting table could increase the success rate and energy efficiency of enchanting.
The Queen really made the right choice in clinging to her coattails.
He stood in front of the enchanting table and glanced back at the neatly stacked swords and soulstones.
A sense of accomplishment arises spontaneously.
"Mr. Chen Mo?" A servant's voice came from behind, tinged with a hint of caution. "Are you satisfied with the studio? If there's anything that needs improvement, please let Steward Folk know—"
"No need." Chen Mo turned around, his face expressionless but his voice steady. "Please thank Her Majesty the Queen for me. Tell her I will complete this order as soon as possible."
He paused.
"To repay Her Majesty's trust."
The servant's eyes lit up, as if he had accomplished some important mission, and he relaxed completely.
"Yes, Mr. Chen Mo. I will pass on your words to Steward Folk."
He bowed, withdrew, and gently closed the door behind him.
Chen Mo stood alone in the studio, facing two hundred swords and three hundred soul stones.
Sunlight streamed in through the window, falling on the iron frame, the sword sheath, and the surface of the soul stone, refracting into tiny, dark purple glints.
He reached out and took a sword from the shelf.
The Imperial standard longsword was heavier than the enchanted shortsword at his waist, with a wider blade and thicker guard, making it suitable for slashing and parrying on the battlefield.
He placed the sword on the enchanting table and then took a regular soulstone from the shelf and placed it next to the sword.
Then he sat down in the leather chair, closed his eyes, and took a deep breath.
Chen Mo opened his eyes and picked up the soul stone. On the back of his right hand, the red line was slightly warm beneath his leather glove. It wasn't pain, but a warm feeling, as if something was awakening.
hiss--
Chen Mo frowned. In the past few days, the pattern seemed to be reacting more and more intensely.
Forget it, forget it.
Shaking his head, Chen Mo cleared his mind of distractions.
He placed the Soulstone on the enchanting table, covered it with his left hand, and began to channel.
The patterns take shape on the blade.
Clear, smooth, perfect
